I had a small piece of cotton twill cord leftover from trimming a special order of the Eiko Jacket for a client. I carefully deconstructed the cord fragment, then selectively dyed portions of it, photographing the process. The texture was undulating and dimensional.
Electronically the image was enlarged and my WORDS OF HOPE: LOVE JOY HAPPINESS PEACE COMPASSION EMPATHY COURAGE were superimposed along the woven threads. The subtly written words in cursive script communicate the message that we as individuals have the ability to positively influence our own lives in this time of unpredictable change.
